Bathroom leak investigation
A bathroom leak can involve supply pipes, wastes, seals or water escaping during use. Timing often tells us more than the position of the stain.
Discuss this problemNotice which use triggers it
Does water appear after a shower, a bath draining, toilet use or while the room is unused? Those patterns help distinguish continuously pressurised pipework from a waste or water-containment problem. Several sources can produce similar ceiling stains.
Check the system behind the symptom
The investigation can combine accessible inspection, moisture mapping and controlled testing appropriate to the fittings. A supply leak is considered alongside wastes and seals rather than assumed from the outset.
Access may involve another room
A pipe or waste beneath a bathroom may be easier to approach from below, but access requires agreement with the person responsible for that space. In a flat, this may involve an occupant, landlord or managing agent.
Match the repair to the cause
The residential plumbing-repair package must be confirmed as suitable for the identified issue. Rebuilding a shower enclosure, waterproofing or decorative reinstatement is not automatically part of a pipe repair.
