Moisture mapping
Comparing moisture readings across an affected area helps build a picture of where dampness has spread.
Look beyond one reading
A pattern across walls and floors is more useful than a single high number. Readings can help select areas for closer inspection and provide context for what is visible.
Respect the material
Different materials and instruments produce different kinds of readings. Salts, concealed metal and the composition of a surface can influence results. A reading alone does not establish a leaking pipe.
Use the picture to guide investigation
Moisture patterns are considered with use history, pipe routes and system tests. They can also explain why a patch remains damp after the source of new water is stopped.

happening at home.
A damp patch. A moving meter. A boiler that keeps losing pressure. You don’t need to know where the leak is to make an enquiry.
